Help to Buy is designed to help first time buyers save for a mortgage deposit. The Government will add 25% on top of what you save, which could mean that you get thousands extra.
You can open your Help to Buy ISA anytime until 30 November 2019 and will be able to save in it until 30 November 2029 as long as you are above the age 16. The definition for a first-time buyer is quite strict. The Government deem a first-time buyer as someone who doesn’t own and has never owned an interest in a property, inside or outside the UK.
The Help to Buy ISA bonus must be used towards the purchase price and cannot be used for any other purpose, including our fees. As the bonus is only available on completion this cannot be used towards the deposit.
